Taylor's Summer of Fun

Now that summer is over it is finally time to add pictures from Taylor's second summer. I would have to say as summers go that Taylor had a very good one.

Taylor turned 2 in June and enjoyed having her family visit for a birthday party. She spent her birthday at the Columbus Zoo seeing all of her favorite animals.

Speaking of birthday parties Taylor had much fun going to her friend's birthday parties. If her friends weren't at parties they were joining her on the boat for a little swim.

Taylor really enjoyed the boat this summer. If she wasn't pushing you in the water then she was jumping in herself. She'll let you know she is ready to ski when mom and dad will let her. Although, we've found if you let her stand on the board and give her the rope she doesn't know the difference!

Taylor Outdoors

Taylor has enjoyed getting outdoors in the warm weather this spring. Whether it is playing with her balls, riding her tricycle, or helping mom and dad in the yard.
She has been especially excited to go out on the boat. We've only been out two times but she is driving the boat and has also been swimming off of the back platform. It won't be long before she'll be up on two skis!

Disney World 2009

The Rodgers traveled to Disney World for our first vacation with Taylor! We had a splendid time and I'm certain you'll enjoy looking at the pictures.

As you can see we visited a water park with Taylor. We could have visited a water park or hotel pool every day and she would have been pleased as peaches! She is a little water baby and loves going underwater or her version of swimming in shallow water.

Taylor enjoyed the rides at Disney. Going fast or high in the air was not a problem for her and she always wanted to "do it again." Dumbo was her favorite ride but she was riding the carousel horse without anyone holding on by the end of the week.

Waiting in lines was the hardest part of the trip for Taylor. The chains and the people kept her somewhat in line. However, it was not long before she discovered how to climb the fences, swing on the chains, or escape underneath them. Mom carried her alot (the biceps are looking good) and we did have our share of meltdowns.

What did we do when the meltdown happened? Taylor loves brooms and took care of sweeping Main Street Disney. If that didn't work, a big sucker from the confectionary did the trick.

All in all it was a good trip. However, the bet is that Taylor won't remember it in a year or two!

Taylor & Disney Characters

Taylor's fun with the Disney characters deserves an entire blog. We did not know how she would react to the characters as she isn't too familiar with them. Little did we know we did not need to worry. She was full of hugs, kisses, pulled their whiskers, and even danced in circles with Goofy. She definitely put on a show for everyone waiting in line behind us! You won't see her with any princesses or fairies in this blog as she didn't find them exciting or cuddly!

Easter 2009

Taylor enjoyed Easter this year. She especially liked hunting for eggs and finding surprises such as jelly beans & hair bows inside!

Great Grandma's 82nd Birthday

Taylor enjoyed her visit to Indiana this weekend for Great Grandma's 82nd birthday. She was positively delighted with the company, food, and cake. She just wishes it wasn't a three hour car ride. Luckily everyone wore her out and she slept most of the ride home!

Rodgers Xmas 2008

Taylor enjoyed Christmas and spending time with all of her family members. As we all witnessed, she takes things at her own comfortable pace and will decide to sack out in a chair when it gets to be too much! She is certainly not bored now and has busied herself with puzzles, having tea with her bears, playing with her house, and yelling Elmo, Elmo, Elmo. Although sometimes this becomes Amy, Amy, Amy, Heather, Heather, Heather. I think she is expecting you to rescue her!
